Happy Holidays

It's been way to long since I posted anything here. Not very good at this blogging thing, too busy I guess. Anyhow, the holidays are upon us and this year I'm just trying to relax everyday and not get too wrapped up in the things. I've got plenty to keep me busy, work is getting busier each day and of course the dogs are a handful. Tylyn has 3, count em, three jobs while a sophmore in high school. She's gotta pay her part of that car we got for her you know!

Where I've been

I haven't been around much lately. I have been on and off sick for the most part of a month, or since we got back from Sint Maarten. I just don't have my usual enery levels, which is very frustrating for me. Yesterday, I had to work at a grand opening event at another store, and it's all I could do to fake feeling good. Then on the drive home, I thought I was gonna have to pull over a few times and hurl. I eventually made it home. The rest of the night my stomach was in knots and I must have visited the bathroom 20 times. Never did throw up though. I had to rock back and forth to get any feeling of comfort. Went to bed at 9:30 pm and slept for 12 hours, but still feel like shit today. I had been to the doctor earlier last week. They ran some blood test and all came back just fine, blood pressure excellent for my age, lungs sounding great, etc. Prescribed a Z Pack for me for my cough, so hopefully that will help clear up or get rid of whatever I've got. I have absolutely no appetite, nothing in the fridge or cupboards even looks or sounds good. I thought about a beer and the thought disgust me....that's how I know I"m not feeling so hot.

I have this upcoming trip to Mexico and I had better get to feeling better soon damnit. We're staying at something like The Club Carib Hotel Akumal Villas or something like that. I actually think I combined two different places...hell, I can't even remember now where the fuck I'm staying. Tulum is out since the govt. has gone and shut a few places down. We didn't want to take any chances there, nope!!

Anyhow, not feeling so hot right now, so gonna go lay my ass on the couch again.

4th of July

Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I've been busy tonight getting ready for tomorrows cookout/party. Ran to Sams Club again tonight and got even more food and then to the liquor store and stocked up on some liquor. I don't know if we'll drink it all, but it's not like it's gonna go to waste. I'm planning an early morning bike ride on one of my favorite trails tomorrow with the neighbors so that should make for a great appetite when I get back. Beers before noon are a big possibility!! I'm planning on taking some pics, but not promising I'll post them!! Have a great 4the of July everyone!!

Heading to Riviera Maya

Ok, so I finalized plane tickets for Mexico tonight. Yeah baby. I'll be heading down there with a friend July 29th - August 6th. Not sure where we're staying yet, but something down Tulum or Akumal way. I'd prefer Tulum area and my buddy could care less he said. He really needs a vacation he says and just wants to chill and relax on the beach. That's what I'm about as well, just drinking and snorkeling and nothing else. Once we figure out where we're staying we'll get transportation down to the hotel, but from there we have are motorless, unless we do the cab or colectivo thing. He wants to see the Tulum ruins and maybe Coba, and fish alot. I don't fish, think it's boring as hell, but he can do that all day if he wants. Tanya will be in Atlanta and his fiance will be in the mountains working on a project for a few weeks so this really works out well for both of us. Three trips this year for me...gonna have to keep working my ass off for these bonuses to pay for this shit. After this trip it will be a few short months until Aruba. Fun summer so far!!

Stinky, smelly, and travel!!

I'm dirty, stinky and scruffy. I need a shower before running to the store that's for sure. Freaking dog park was nothing but dirt and weeds, great if your a dog, not so good if your a human. My buddy is coming over later as well, and we're trying to finalize our travel plans and figure out just what we wanna do in Aruba this fall. I'm not much of a vacation planner to tell you the truth. I do alot of research on where I go if it's someplace new, like Sint Maarten this past month, but I don't plan out everyday of the week. Instead, I just have a few things I want to do, but beach time comes first, followed by a cat sail/snorkel trip, then the rest is all gravy after that. Vacation for me is all about unwinding, relaxing, tanning and drinking all day and night. Rinse and repeat the next few days, sometimes acting responsibly if I have a trip or tour the next day. Anyhow, enough rambling, time for that shower.

Just got back from taking all 4 of my dogs to the dog park today. It's close to 90 outside, but the sun is behind some clouds, making it a litte bearable for the dogs. They needed a good run and got it. Phantom is asleep with his head hanging over the water bowl and Kody has his head on Phantoms' hindquarters. I wonder how long they'll crash?? These guys have gotten so big it's hard to believe that Phantom and Pumpkin are 8 months old now and Kody is 6. Kody is the biggest too, being a Bernese Mountain dog it's no surprise. I think he has an issue with his right leg though, I noticed as he was running today that he favors it and it just doesn't look quite right in his gallop. People I've talked to just said it's his legs catching up with the growth of his body. He is too darn cute. Here's a pic of all 4 of the pups taken a few months ago. I've got to get some new ones up soon I know.

Ok, so I'm sitting here planning a trip to Playa with a buddy of mine and I'm catching some flack cuz I don't wanna hang out in Playa the whole time. I've been there tons of times and really just want to get away from it for a trip. Not that I've ever hung out there completely when down in the area, but I'm much more into the laid back, toes in the sand, walk the beach at night kinda thing versus the crowd of Playa at night. I think it's just because I've been there so often that the town has lost it's appeal for me. Don't get me wrong, I love Playa Del Carmen but I'm just not into hanging out at the Beer Bucket or other hot spots. Put me on a beach chair with a beer and a few friends and some nice conversation, the waves lapping up to my feet and the stars overhead and I'm a happy camper. Sitting my ass on a barstool, uh, I don't think so. Just me I guess. I prefer a small group of close knit friends alone versus a bunch of drunks I don't know. I'd rather know my fellow drunken brethern. Ah hell, who am I kidding, put me anywhere in Playa and I'll be fine. But if I wake up hung over and miss out on my beach time I'll be pissed!!

Ok, that was fun!! So, what's up with all this blogging crap!! Don't we have forums for this kinda thing if we really want to do this? It's late and I'm tired, so I'm sure manana I"ll have something more substantial to put down here.
